ANSWER

The given image illustrates the production of a biofuel called ethanol. 

Overall, it is a cyclical process that begins with energy absorbed by plants and trees and ends with ethanol produced for different types of transportation. The majority of the eight stages in the process are man-made, with most of the steps being completed automatically.  

Firstly, plants and trees absorb sunlight and carbon dioxide to grow. Once they are mature, these plants and trees are harvested by farmers using a farming machine. Next, the harvested plants and trees are pre-processed in a machine where they are crushed into small pieces. These pieces are then turned into cellulose strips.  

The cellulose fibres are then processed with different chemicals to become sugars. These sugar molecules continue to be mixed with added microbes, which makes them turn into ethanol. The ethanol produced is then shipped to the market as biofuel energy used for planes, cars, and trucks. These vehicles release carbon dioxide emissions, which are absorbed again by plants and trees.
